In August 2025, Zara Larsson stepped out on stage to open Tate McRae’s “Miss Possessive” tour, wearing a beaded, hibiscus flower-adorned mini skirt. That special little piece of intricately woven materials turned out to be part of the blueprint for her vibrant, Y2K-infused “Midnight Sun” fashion aesthetic. Of course, neither Larsson nor the emerging designer behind it knew that at the time. “That piece kicked off a whole new era for her,” Cheshire, England-based knitwear designer Paul Aaron recalls over email. “I was the first person to make the hibiscus flowers that became part of her looks, and it turned instantly recognizable…After that, her stylist had many designers making hibiscus pieces for her.” Zara Larsson in a Paul Aaron mini skirt. It would be an understatement to say that Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab has a mastery of red carpet gowns. “I designed my first dress when I was 13 years old,” Tamanna Mullen , founder of Arth Atelier , tells Fashionista. But despite this early interest in fashion, Mullen pursued a business degree after leaving Punjab, India for the U.S. 16 years ago. “The easiest way I can explain that is my upbringing as a South Asian person,” she says, of feeling pressure to study a perceivably serious and respectable subject. Still, the initial vision she had for her career — running her own fashion brand — remained clear. What can diverse hair representation look like in the gaming world? That’s the question The Doux Co-Founder Maya Smith set out to answer when she launched My Salon Empire, a tycoon-style hair salon game now available on Roblox (an online platform that allows users to create avatars and build virtual worlds).  The free game invites Roblox players to manage their own hair salon and serve clients, including completing consultations, shampooing and styling hair (with branded The Doux products, of course), practicing hair-care techniques and hiring staff. Nyakio Grieco Reacquires Thirteen Lune, Expands to South Africa Nyakio Grieco has reacquired beauty retailer Thirteen Lune from SNR Capital, the founder told WWD .
