Barefoot Trend or Shoe Mishaps? At New York Fashion Week, It's a Bit of Both

To the untrained eye, it may have looked like an anti-shoe trend was brewing at New York Fashion Week. Multiple designers seemingly sent models down the runway with their dogs out: At Jane Wade, a handful of shoe-free looks emphasized the outdoorsy Spring 2027 collection, while 6397’s debut catwalk featured one model baring sand (?) -covered toes and LoveShackFancy welcomed barefoot dancers to underscore the ’90s hippie aesthetic of its salon-style presentation. Tanner Fletcher Takes a Road Trip to New England for Spring 2027

Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell, the design duo behind Tanner Fletcher, may both hail from the Midwest (Wisconsin and Minnesota, respectively), but for Spring 2027, they’re headed to the East Coast. The brand unveiled its latest collection during a preview at its Chelsea studio on Monday, an expansive 61-look lineup that marks the second chapter of “Cabin Wear,” which Kasell described as “sort of a brand within a brand” for Tanner Fletcher. Where the brand’s first Cabin Wear collection centered on “the woodsy Midwest nostalgia of fall,” this second one shifts to “a relaxed coastal sensibility,” per collection notes.
