Must Read: 'WYouth' Releases First Issue, Sabato De Sarno Named Creative Director of Icicle

These are the stories making headlines in fashion on Tuesday.

WYouth Releases First Issue

W Magazine is unveiling WYouth (pronounced “Double Youth”), a spinoff magazine aimed at teens, with its debut issue arriving on newsstands Sept. 15. The idea came from a text Sofia Coppola sent to Ava Nirui suggesting a teen version of W, and Coppola later connected her with W‘s Editor-in-Chief Sara Moonves. For WYouth‘s first issue, the theme centers on connection and features Hailey and Justin Bieber on the cover, along with Tyler, The Creator, Clairo, Chloë Sevigny, alongside other creatives and young talent. {WYouth}

Sabato De Sarno Named Creative Director of Icicle

Icicle has named Sabato De Sarno as its new creative director overseeing women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories and eyewear, effective with its Fall 2027 collection. De Sarno most recently served as Gucci’s creative director before exiting in February 2025. Icicle CEO and Co-Founder Ye Shouzeng said the move reflects Icicle’s ambition to pair global talent with “Icicle’s deep cultural roots and industrial strength in China.” {Icicle}

Victoria’s Secret Works To Revive Pink

Victoria’s Secret CEO Hillary Super is working to revive Pink, the retailer’s youth-focused brand, after it lost half of its sales volume over the past decade. Under new leadership, Pink is being repositioned as “bold, playful, irreverent” and distinct from Victoria’s Secret’s “sexy, glamorous, luxurious” identity, Pink President Ali Dillon told The New York Times. The strategy appears to be working as the company posted its fifth consecutive quarter of sales growth, and Victoria’s Secret’s stock is up more than 39% this year. {The New York Times/paywalled}

Shein’s Hong Kong Listing Falters Amid Profitability Concerns

Shein has lost about $5 billion in market value since its Hong Kong IPO, with shares closing 19% below their offering price despite a 3.2% rebound Monday. That marks the second-worst performance in the first five sessions among Hong Kong listings that raised at least $1 billion. Analysts point to concerns over tariffs, fulfillment costs and execution risks tied to Shein’s marketplace transition, along with slowing revenue growth and a $99 million first-quarter loss. {Bloomberg/paywalled}

Ukrainian Fashion Week Continues Despite Russian Strikes

Ukrainian Fashion Week concluded Sunday in Kyiv despite Russian attacks that triggered air-raid alerts and forced one show into a shelter. Organizers reported rising momentum for the industry, with some brands citing domestic sales growth of up to 70% and expanding international distribution in markets including France, Germany and the U.S. {Business of Fashion/paywalled}

How the Birkin Bag Is Complicating Hermès’s Watch Strategy

Hermès has spent more than two decades building credibility as a serious watchmaker, cutting production by roughly 75% to boost exclusivity. But data from resale platform The RealReal shows many buyers may be purchasing watches simply to improve their odds of securing a Birkin bag, then reselling them quickly. Mint-condition Hermès watches recoup only 41% of their original price on resale in 2026, far below Rolex and Cartier, and that value has fallen by 10% over the past four years even as rivals’ resale values have climbed. {The Wall Street Journal/paywalled}

Nu Skin Closes BeautyBio

BeautyBio, the skin-care device brand Nu Skin Enterprises acquired for $75 million in 2023, has closed after its sales collapsed and left it with “no remaining carrying value,” according to SEC filings. The closure ties to $5.9 million in wind-down charges, following a $25.1 million impairment charge last year. Founder Jamie O’Banion, who stepped down as CEO in 2024, called Nu Skin “a fantastic partner.” The brand joins Clarisonic and other beauty device casualties as the category faces intensifying competition from K-beauty players like Medicube. {Beauty Independent/paywalled}
