About Raised on Film
Raised on Film is an independent fashion label built around the shared creative practise of film photography and garment development. We design our own collections and sell through Shopify. We’re hiring a Growth Lead to expand our audience and build the channels that bring people to the brand.

The role
Your first priority is organic growth on Instagram and TikTok, measured through views, engagement and audience growth. Short-form content and creator partnerships lead the work, with email, SMS and paid media supporting what performs.

You’ll work directly with Jem and Dan, our co-founders. This is a hands-on role with no large team to delegate to. You’ll have room to build the function and manage our existing creative partners from day one.

The team and how we work
We’re a hybrid team based in San Diego and Melbourne, serving the US and Australia. We’re flexible about working hours and focus on what you deliver. We shoot in both countries at least twice a year, and you’ll be on the ground for those shoots, working with photographers, models and creative partners.

We want to grow quickly. You’ll need to make decisions, get content out and adjust when the results point somewhere new.

What you’ll own
●  Organic and short-form. Run Instagram and TikTok: plan, make and publish content, test ideas and build on what works. Success means views, engagement and audience growth improving month on month while the content stays true to the brand.
●  Creator partnerships and gifting. Find people, manage outreach, write briefs and organise product seeding. Build a repeatable process that produces useful content and measurable sales.
●  Paid media. Select and own creative and review spend against ROAS and CPA targets. Use successful organic and gifted content to grow paid sales profitably.
●  Email and SMS. Own flows, campaigns, segmentation and the promotional calendar around collection launches.
●  Reporting and attribution. Report weekly on views, engagement and audience growth, followed by ROAS, CPA, conversion and sell-through. Explain what is working and where to spend next.
●  Commercial input. Bring what you learn into launch planning, pricing and promotions.

What we’re looking for
● You work quickly and take responsibility for what needs doing.
● You can point to a channel you built from scratch and explain its results.
● You’re comfortable making content, building a flow and running a test yourself.
● You challenge decisions that do not make business sense, including ours.
● You understand film, fashion, vintage clothing and the culture around the brand. You can tell when content fits, as well as when it performs.

Experience
We value initiative and judgment, backed by the skills to do the work.

● 2 to 5+ years in growth, social or performance marketing at a DTC brand, ideally fashion, beauty or lifestyle.
● Paid media fluency across Meta and TikTok is ideal rather than required. You need enough knowledge to assess ROAS, CPA and attribution, or evidence that you can learn quickly.
● Experience managing creative partners, writing clear briefs and holding them to agreements

Nice to have
●  An existing network of creators, photographers, models and agencies in your city.
●  Experience setting up attribution and analytics dashboards.
●  Experience taking a brand through a repositioning or rebrand.
●  Familiarity with film, colour grading, DaVinci Resolve and the Adobe suite.
●  Comfort with our tools, including Slack, Notion, Gorgias, Claude/ChatGPT, Shopify and   Meta Business Suite.

Details
● Location: Los Angeles or San Diego, CA, or Melbourne, VIC. Hybrid, working online with the team but on the ground for shoots and the scene around the brand.
● Type: Full-time, core team member.
●  Compensation: A$100,000 to A$130,000 base plus super (Melbourne) or US$80,000 to US$110,000 base (LA/San Diego), plus meaningful equity (2 to 3%, four-year vest with a one-year cliff). Ranges reflect local market rates for each location.
● Benefits: Travel expenses for photoshoots and work trips covered. Access to free product and samples.

How to apply
Email jem@raisedonfilm.com with your CV and short answers to these four questions:

  1. Tell us about a growth channel you built from the ground up. What did it do, and how do you know?
  2. What would you own first at Raised on Film, and why?
  3. Having looked at our brand, what’s one thing you’d change or try? We take feedback well, so be direct.
  4. What is an achievement you are most proud of? Anything outside of work counts (hobbies, leadership, sport, anything you’re passionate about).

We love it when people go above and beyond, so if you want to send more than we asked for, do. And somewhere in your application, include a 🎞️ emoji so we know you read this far.
